66% of Moms using smartphones while shopping

According to a new study by Greystripe, a mobile ad network, a whopping two thirds of all moms acknowledged that their smartphones play a role in their shopping lives.

Here’s how moms are using smartphones when shopping:

  • 45% are looking to locate nearest store
  • 36% interested in price comparisons
  • 31% researching new products
  • 26% using a shopping list
  • 21% downloading coupons

What does this mean for marketers?

Just like mommy-blogs and mommy-forums created an excellent opportunity a few years ago, reaching the always-important ‘mom on the go’ is now more important than ever. Smartphones are giving brands & retailers the ability to impact purchase decisions in real-time.

Those with the highest mobile visibility and most aggressive social/direct-to-mobile deals will ultimately win for this key buying segment.
