In a recent poll by social media authority, Mashable, advertising and marketing execs were asked about their social media initiatives in 2011. 35% of marketers stated that increasing the number of Facebook Likes was the number one priority for 2011, while 22% of respondents stated increasing mobile presence.
A few other key stats:
- 50% cited mix of in-house and agency use for social media outreach
- 87% said social media is “important” or “very Important” to overall marketing goals
- iPad planning (advertising or apps) was cited by 80% as an initiative in 2011
